Save, Publish & Schedule

This article explains how to save, publish and schedule content in Hygraph. Whether content must first be created in CommerceTools, or directly in Hygraph, it will not be visible on the website until it has been published. You may save, and publish at a later date, or concurrently save and publish content using the buttons on the top right section of the screen.

A pop-up will appear where specific stages or localizations can be selected and toggled to be included or excluded.

You may also configure a schedule event to publish the content by clicking the drop-down arrow on the right of the ‘Save & publish’ button.

Schedule

If content is to be included in a scheduled release, for instance, if it is part of a campaign, or product launch, information pertaining to the release will be displayed in the schedule section of the info pane when the content is selected.

By clicking the three dots, you may edit, or remove the schedule event.

If no such event exists this will also be specified.

Using the ‘+ Add’ or ‘Save & Schedule’ buttons, you can create a schedule event. Keep in mind that setting a schedule event in Hygraph does not automatically activate products or discounts in CommerceTools.

There are three options to choose from when creating a schedule event.

Schedule Entry only

Specify a schedule event only for currently selected object.

Toggle whether the schedule event should Publish or Unpublish the selected object.

Select which stage of the selected object should be effected by the schedule event.

Determine a date and time when the schedule event should take place.

Currently VHC only operates in the GMT +02:00 - Europe/Amsterdam time zone.

You can also specify which locales will be included in the schedule event.

Take note that Hygraph will indicate that if the object has never been pbulished before there are certain requirements.

Add to an existing release

Select this option to choose an existing release to include this object in.

Add to new release

Create a new release, in which other objects and pages can also be included.

There are extra fields to specify when choosing this option, a name and description field.

The rest of the options are the same as the ‘entry only’ option.

Stages

The latest stage of content is displayed on the info pane of content, and if it contains anything that has not been published, this will be specified.

Versions

Hygraph keeps track of stage progressions which can be reviewed via the version section in the Info pane of selected content.

By selecting a listed version, a comparison screen will be displayed where all the fields from both versions are visible, and then which specific changes were made between the two versions.

There are two options that can be configured on this screen:

• Locales: Enabling or disabling locales will show or hide them in comparison screen.
• show edits only (x): toggle the slider to hide fields that were not changed between the two versions being compared.
